Two prophets, a king, and a lion. This is one of the strangest stories in the Bible, and today, we're learning all about it.
Not every Bible story is straightforward. Some are confusing, some are filled with inscrutable metaphors, and some are just plain strange.
Today's story is one of the later ones. A strange, sometimes weird story of two prophets, a king, and a lion.
If you're not sure what I'm talking about — after all, this isn't one of those famous (or infamous) Bible stories we all know of —, I invite you to refer to First Kings, Chapter 13.
In it, the narrator tells us the story of two unnamed prophets.
One who denounces King Jeroboam and one who lies. Like many Bible stories, this one ends with a death.
Who dies? Who lives? And what's the meaning behind this strange tale?
