Episode Notes

Hello everyone, and welcome back to a brand new episode of The Bible You Thought You Knew.

In podcasts #43, #44, and #45, we dealt with the story of Saul. From the time he was anointed Prince to his first actions as Israel's ruler. This week we will treat the episode in which Saul's successor, David, was called to be Israel's King.

This narration is in First Samuel 16. Some of this material was presented in podcast #7 when I treated the story of David and Goliath. You may want to listen to that episode, either as a refresher or for the first time. In this podcast, however, we will be focusing on the primary issue of David being anointed Saul's successor.

Why was Saul replaced? And more importantly, why did God choose David?

Tune in now and get those and more answers!
