In this week's episode, I discuss the story of Isaac and the Philistines, which appears in Genesis 26. Tune in to learn more!
Hello friends, and welcome back to The Bible You Thought You Knew!
Today, like every week, I'll be discussing a Bible story that's not very prominent: The tale of Isaac.
As you might already know, Isaac is part of one of the most used phrases in the Old Testament: "The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."
Seeing as this sentence is so prominent in the scripture, you'd think Isaac's stories would be front and center in the Bible, like Jacob's and Abraham's.
However, there is very little about him, apart from one chapter in Genesis 26 that is entirely dedicated to him.
And that's exactly the chapter I will be covering in today's episode.
Are you ready?
Let's dive in!
Key points discussed
Let's talk about Isaac (00:44)
How the story begins (01:50)
Isaac vs. the Philistines (07:34)
The Lord appears to Isaac (09:51)
Abimelech shows good faith (14:11)
How the chapter ends (16:58)
